I feel almost only the Indonesia flag carrier (Garuda) has the safe flights in that country.
Adam Air seemed to be better than Jatayu Airlines.
Why they ceased flights? Was not an accident like in the past with other Indonesian airlines for sure.
Indonesia has Lionair and Air Asia (which started in Malaysia then to Thailand), both better than Adam Air.
I believe (suspect) the big issue is the flight safety again in that country!
Can you tell us more about Adam Air ceased ops.? AIRFLEETS.NET STAFF PHOTO SCREENER

In addition to safety, there are some serious issues with this airline. Some directly related to safety but others don't. They include corruption, false advertising, financial mis-management, ignore direct instructions fm the aviation authorities, labour issues arised fm pilot refusing to fly unsafe aircraft, etc. Basically, stuff that will be considered intolerable by gov't for such a long time or unimaginable by the airline industry in any developed nations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Air

EI-DUB:
Stay tuned, I expect more will join the fate of Adam Air shortly. GA will survive though....at least until airline M&A hits Asia further down the road....
Indonesian Aviation Authorities hv finally navigated through that vast political+biz interest jungle in SE Asia and empowered to actually do something effective about their country's aviation future.

This is good news for the Indonesian aviation industry. Adam were (another) disaster waiting to happen.
I'm interested to see who takes up the slack on their former routes ans who gets there space in terminal 1C at Soekano-Hatta. I reckon Air Asia should move in. They are very cramped in 1A these days.

I figure Lion Air, if they won't be grounded nex, will be the biggest beneficiaries of the fall of Adam Air. With 100+ units of 739ER joining the fleet, these jets need somewhere to fly to and park....
While AirAsia Indonesia(CGK hub) is expanding, I noticed its more restrained domestic expansion(Where the bulk of Indonesia air travel growth occurs anyway). Even if they want to rapidly match Lion Air's grand plan, AirAsia Indonesia must wait their turn to get their hands on new jets because all aircraft orders are done by AirAsia Group. Those new 320 deliveries are shared with AirAsia Malaysia(KUL hub) and AirAsia Thailand(BKK hub). AirAsia Indonesia predominatly flies older 734s(Passed down fm AirAsia Malaysia) domestically.
