Hello, from Paris spotting association KeroZen president :
Hello,
Recently french authorities have informed us that there are a lot of new holes in the airport fences at CDG. I copy the internal mail of the KeroZen association for our members. I invite you to transmit it to all spotters. Because this time there is a important change : if this bad way of spotting continues, they will apply against us some measures that restrict our hobby.
Stephane.
These past few weeks, the sous-préfecture of Seine Saint Denis has informed us that some airport fences have been damaged. These holes are used by spotters to allow them to take pictures through in the restricted area. French authorities are very unpleased by such bad comportment. They have said to us that if these acts don't stop, they have to limit our hobby.
By the past, I did some information, to our members, but also to all spotters via forum or dedicated mailing lists. We can't accept such comportment. Consequences can be important, and no one wants to know how authorities can limit aircraft spotting at CDG.
I can't imagine a KeroZen member doing such holes. So, I ask you to tell to your friends or other spotters that making holes in airport fences is not the right way of spotting. Only bad consequences can occur.
Our behavior around french airports fences is very important, especially at CDG, if we want to continue aircraft spotting.
Thanks for your time reading this Wink

I kind of take pictures in U.S., some airports have some special place to get a nice view and nice place to take pictures.
I know that some of us had damaged the fences and I am kind of sorry for the goverment but I think may be airport can start building places for us to spot and that will be great!
Thank you for bring the news remi94

Right here is my view on things. I have been to many airports across Europe and have experienced some very good and very bad situations. At Paris we were told to move on for no particular reason by the French police on my first day but other than this they left us to enjoy the rest of the airshow weekend. The spotting areas at Paris allowed me to take some excellent photographs and therefore i see no reason why a bunch of idiots damaging fences should ruin it for the rest of us. I am fully behind the french government on this. The fences are there for a reason. London Heathrow has barriers to prevent this sort of problem and this doesnt affect spotting. Photographs are also possible when aircraft are airbourne around the airport. I will mention this at Manchester but really there isnt a lot i can do since not many of our spotters go to Paris that often. Thanks for bringing it up.
