I see this is a reason for rejecting photos that have been uploaded to the site.
I wonder if my fellow screeners could explain their reasons for using this as a rejection point, and could they explain how they knew the photographers motive for taking the shot, as rarely do they include their motive when uploading.

Dear Ray,

I have some, a few, photos of closeup, but only two accepted and i had to ask please...please to allow me share that closeup photos. There are others ones were rejected by my fellows screeners.
I don't understand why. Personally, i think closeups are good when have some stickers and names applied on the specific region you taken the photo. Thats i think good motive. Reading the upload guide, closeups of anyway not a reason to rejection, but i can understand my fellows screeners prefer the full airplane photos. I mostly accept the closeups when the fuselage to the nose and the tail are not cut out (parts)of the picture.
I drop to take closeup photos, but will upload again my rejected ones and see what happens.
I think i know which one screeners don't like closeups, but cannot write their names in respect them. When i see the screening page rejected photos, i see the BAD MOTIVE there and many ways are good photos.
I noted you have more closeups than me, and got angry why the rejections. I only can say besides me and you, there is another screener accept closeups, but again in respect cannot write his name.

Lets wait more fellows screeners leave their views!

I don't have any good photographic material but really appreciate the photos that are posted on here. However, I think that if there is a photo taken from any angle, exposure, close up etc etc you photographers know what I mean then I think that any type of photo should be posted only the quality should be good and in focus. After all were all into planes. I have a few crapy shots of planes on finals here in REC I wanna post them but they won't get accepted. Now that the VARIG logo has changed maybe the 737-300 I have might get accepted.

I have raised the question on screening before. I assume you screeners have a standard guideline for photo acceptance provided by the webmaster I expect each screener will have slightly different personal bias (like or dislike). However, it is probably a common knowledge that there is a huge difference among you screeners. What I hated most is the photo being rejected without a reason.

I suggest when rejecting a photo, also include a suggestion on improving the photo so that it can be accepted.

e.g. Bad Motive: photo taken from the rear is not acceptable. Only accept photos taken from the side.

I think the word is MOTIF not MOTIVE

MOTIF = A recurrent thematic element in an artistic or literary work.

I personally never, when have a rejected photo, left blank without the reason.
I explained on post before and i'm accepting most of closeups.
Did you note there are more closeups recently?
But my closeups were rejected by anothers screeners.
We screeners follow the rejection guideline and have some differences on screening process, not pretty much. Almost same percentual of acceptance for each screener.

Welcome back Spot planes!

I dropped from use the BAD MOTIVE (Motif), when screening photos.
Photos taken from rear are acceptable, but need to be good cropping, i cannot judge others screeners!
