Hi there I'm hoping one of you really clever people might be able to help - I need to know cost per year to transport an extra kilo of weight eg. the cost per KG for B747 400 is £158 for BA . I need this type of information for all of the various planes in their fleet. I have some weight saving ideas so therefore to justify them I need to know the cost per Kilo per Year then conversely how much my ideas might save - hope that makes sense. Can anyone help?

When you say that a Kg of weight costs BA £158 on a 747-400 where did you get this figure as if this were so BA would never have any cargo. Aviation Fuel costs differ from one country to another and you would need to know if BA are buying on a Bunkerage Deal or on a fuel card or do they buy on the futures market or whatever their buying police would be. To gain the attention of the airlines you need to use comparisons such as the 250 bottles of Gin on board today weighs 35 Kgs but by using my bottles it will only weigh 27 Kgs so never mind the fuel costs BA know what it costs them just consentrate on getting the weight down by quite a considerable amount and that will gain their attention.

esay figure : if oil barrel is at 100 dollars, 1 T of jet fuel costs 1000 euros. It cost fuel to carry extra load ( fuel per exemple ): on a 10 hours flight it costs about 200 kg to have 1 T at arrival ( that means you have to fuel 1.2 T on departure.

Does that mean ona 10 hour flight a plane would fill up with 1.2 tons just on departure. Sorry I'm a bit thick when it comes to maths

I should have said : if you want 1 MORE Ton at arrival , you need to fuel on departure 1.2 T. Same logics if you board in last minutes 10 unexpected passengers , and if you want to have at arrival same fuel as initially planned , you must fuel 200 KG more . are you less thick in maths .....
