I saw something in Internet about Harmony Airlines to stop flights from YYZ, and its restructuring. Anyone of the guys here knows something more about it? More news will be appreciatted! AIRFLEETS.NET STAFF PHOTO SCREENER

Harmony has announced that it will stop operations over the next two weeks. The airline will operate it's last Vancouver Toronto service March 30. Service will being to roll back with a total shutdown in two weeks. The staff of 350 will be laid off. Harmony has according to officials been having troubles with the high costs of operations. The high cost of fuel ranks at the top of the list. The companies business plan is also in need of a drastic revamping. The last straw has been China's refusal to grant the carrier rights into China. It was also made clear by the company that the airline is not bankrupt or filing for protection. There is a chance the airline will reinvent itself and only operate holiday charters. For passengers effected will be given full refunds. Westjet has already offered seat sales and reduced fares to pick up on the void left with Harmony grounded. In the meantime yet another startup Canadian Carrier has had to stop operations due to high operating costs.

I think Harmony did not give up hope for the operation into China. That is why Dr. Ho (the owner) keeps Harmony running as charter and wait for his opportunity. Refunding all tickets purchased and stop flying scheduled service is cheaper than losing money when flying. I have purchased their HarmonyOne (business clss) pass 6 pack (over CAD$3000) 2 weeks ago. I phoned them yesterday to get refund. I was surprised the phone was answered quickly and by a real person. Refund was promised to be in 3 to 6 weeks. Compared to Jetsgo, Dr. Ho is doing the honorable thing.

Thanks for the news Spot planes, unfortunately, like Jetsgo, is another airline that ceased operations in Canada. There only two major airlines in Canada, ACA and Westjet. Some years ago the competion was better, with Canadian (CDN). AIRFLEETS.NET STAFF PHOTO SCREENER

Nice photos from you, Spot planes, spaecially this CRJ200ER. Is the slots of Harmony Airlines transferred to Westjet? I'll travel to Toronto next week, to make an Air Canada report. YVR is not that busy and have lots of slots available. I guess the Harmony slots are now available to any airlines wants them.
