According to Internet, Gol bough Varig for about US$ 320mi.
The idea is to use Varig international slots to Frankfurt, Paris, London, Madrid, Milan, New York e Miami.
Varig will be a low cost airline to these destinations.
The plan is to upgrade the current fleet of 17 aicrafts to a 20 Boeings 737 e 14 Boeings 767.

Will be nice. I like Varig, i flown with them some times, and i hated when they almost ceased operations.
The current fleet of 17 aircraft, includes about 10 Boeings 737.
Any news if the 10 more 737s will be the -300 version?

Gol CEO said that Varig will not serve international or domestic as a low cost. Gol will indeed use it's valuable slots to fly int'l destinations BUT using varig's brand and PREMIUM service. He also said they'll remove fist class replacing it with more business seats. Add MEX to the above list of int'l destinations.

If this is true it is good news to hear that Varig will once again be flying Internationally. I for one miss the MD11 at LHR and as unlikely as it is to have it back for Varig at least we should get Varig back. Hopefully Varig can at least get some T7's again because the 767 isn't going to be big enough for certain routes. Look forward to seeing them thanks for the update

Assuming today prices for flights on april 16th:
Gol - Aproximately US$ 45-50 each leg depending the time
TAM - Aproximately US$ 50 each leg
This are the prices for the cheapyest rates they have.
I would go by TAM.

There are some pretty silly promo's going one here at the moment. TAM is probably the better option. But GOL ha some silly prices at the moment. A friend of mine went to Fortaleza last week and got the whole trip just for 200 Reais. I guess thats about 100-150 Dollars.
