On another site (which I am not a member can't afford it) There is an interesting topice about Emorates and there next destination in the UK. Many people are going for the southwest like Bristol, Exeter And Bournemouth. What do you guys think? I personally will go with the Bournemouth option .Why? because there governing body has anounced a 32 million pound investment program which includes widening the Taxiways redo the the main apron terminal development and public transport sectors. It wouldn't surprise me to see them with their A330 in there. BOH is definately capable handling that traffic. In addition Bournemouth is a rich area with a lot of tourist attractions and their link with Saudia Arabia is well known. It would be so good to see that.

Hi Werker. I just wish there was a direct flight to BOh from Recife. But yes if BOH does get this or lets assume that Emirates go to Bristol or Exeter I think we will see some more new routes from the southwest. Bristol doesn't have a long runway I think its about 6500ft were as Bournemouth is around 2300ft and capable hadling a 747. Well let's see.

I personally can't see EK starting either of these new routes at least before expanding those that they already operate. The site was Airliners.net as i have also been reading it. Although i personally think this won't happen i am sure some new routes may go to these airports to parts of Europe. Obviously i may well be wrong but only time will tell. Before this i would expect Manchester to get a third daily and maybe some extra services to the other parts of the U.K. such as Scotland and the giants in the south east. Then again with the A380 to be in service soon they may well have enough aircraft to operate such services. One thing i noticed in AMS was that EK wasn't present except for cargo and this is also likely to be starting soon in my opinion

Hi SJR. I'm going on the theory that BOH is to get a total revamp of 32 million and usually when that happens something could be in the wind. Know what I mean. I just think that BOH has a slightly longer runway over BRS and this could be an advantage. Also the Saudi Arabian Air force and surrounding countries use BOH's maintenance facilities for there aircraft. There are quite regularly visitors there. But hey! Who knows. i think you have a point about AMS to.

Well we will have to wait and see. EK have plenty of options and only they know where they are going. I know some people who work for EK at Manchester and may be able to find out some things. I let you know if i do.
