Virgin atlantic to toronto?

i've heard for many years that virgin was going to fly from london to Toronto but it never happened i heard just recently that they were planning to finally open a route to toronto maybe this year. Just wondering if this is true.

If they are planning to open this route we will soon find out. I think they haven't done this so far because of high landing taxes in Canada with Toronto being the worst. But then again they run to other expensive destinations so who knows. BA run the route from LHR and if BD are still there from Manchester i am not sure. Air Canada also run the route so maybe it is a case of not enough capacity to run this route

Virgin will do what they have done in the past wait until they can convince the authorities to kick British Airways off one of their YYZ routes from LHR and then they will take it up after it has been well developed. LHR - JFK LHR - TYO to mention two.

Virgin is a goos airline with good onboard service but the way they get their routes well not the way others do it.
