I found a discusion on Airliners

http://www.airliners.net/discussions/general_aviation/read.main/2235096/

Does anyone know more about this?
we (some SPL spotters, and trying out the airports of Europe) were planning to go to CDG the 13th of august but it seems that our plans are falling in the water....
Is there anybody who maybe have some more details..

still we are planning to go butt its no fun if we come there and we are going to be send away in a coupple of minutes.
Still we can go to Orlly if this will hapen butt thats not we were planning

hope that someone have some details and does anybody have some links to CDG including the spotters-site?

so I can take a look over there.

Hi.
Perhaps any of our fellow regulars here at airfleets.net can give more informations about it, neverthless it is a significant change from the ADP authorities.
Security is obviously an important issue, and I believe we (spotters and enthusiasts) should always understand that the police is only following orders and doing their job, so perhaps we shouldn´t blame them for this.
If in the future, photographing at CDG gets complicate, it will surely be a great lost, not only for those that live there, but also to those who visit that magnificent airport.

Hello

Iv'e taken this photo the 18th jully at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, 4h00pm.--
Just after, i've been controlled by a police patrol. I've presented my driving licence and they say me that it was forbiddent to take pictures near the airport. The reason was to prevent terrorist attacks. So, i came back to my house with a big regret about this politic decision!!, but i'll return to CDG airport next week!!

Hello.
I decided to get back to this topic, because I found a friend who travelled in the last three weeks in Europe on a spotting trip, and gave me some more informations on how things are regarding our hobbie.
Of course that if any of you lives in one of this places, and wishes to share some more infos that is welcome.
But as I was saying, my friend managed to stay almost 3 hours at CDG, untill the police asked for ID and send them away.
The same happened in Barcelona (3 hours in the police station), in Berlin and believe it or not...in Zurich.
Things are getting difficult for us...

Hi

I was at CDG on July 21, and was making my pictures on the famous spotting place between both terminals, and adjecent to the Sofitel without any problems from 11am until 3pm! No police, no ID checks etc. So, I didn't get any idea about spotting in CDG is forbidden nowadays.

btw, I have been asked for my ID a few weeks ago in AMS, just under the flightpath for runway 18C. According the policeman, they have a campaign against terrorism around the airport now in AMS, and everybody may be checked on a timely basis. They will also store your personal data in their own database for possible needs at a later stage.

During Summer '05: I was sent away by the police in London Heathrow because I was standing on a hard shoulder. But then walked down to Hatton Cross, where I didn't have trouble any more.

Can anybody show me the official document in which it explicitely says that spotting is forbidden at CDG?

best regards,
Stephan

To answer your question about spotting in CDG.
You won't have any problem if:
-you respect the environment (fences, no rubishes,...);
-you are polite and respectuous with military patrols. (explain what you are doing there slowly and quietly)
-you avoid to park your car near the fences or in unauthorized areas.
