Great video G-NIKO i flown many times with Varig and feel sad.
The airline in glorius days had more than 80 aircraft, now only 15. The airline awaiting the new certificate of airline for operation and in discussions an order for 50 Erj190. But the situation still cloudy.
Last time i flown with Varig was in 1999, when was a great airline. AIRFLEETS.NET STAFF PHOTO SCREENER

G-NIKO Thanks for the sader video, i believe the airline will grow again, AND WE MUST TO BELIEVE. There's a song ilustrated the Varig image for many years, i don't know if you'll understand portuguese, but the song says:
Estrela brasileira no céu azul, iluminando de norte a sul, mensagem de amor e paz, papai noel a jato pelo céu, de felicidade...
The Varig cristmas song, that appeared on tv every year, and says the airline fown from south to north of the Brazil and the world, and was a pleasure of hapiness fly by Varig, enjoy, G-NIKO AIRFLEETS.NET STAFF PHOTO SCREENER

I hope to see them back at LHR, but i would be extremely happy if they started services to Manchester Ringway. Sadly i know this is NEVER going to happen, but i can dream. Hope the MD11's aren't cut up as i have only seen three of them. Probably the ones that will stay in the fleet as well.

try going to Amsterdam for MD11's. To be fair i haven't seen very many. All the KLM, 2 Fedex, 4 Varig, 5 Martinair and 3 Eva Air Cargo. I am 18 now and have only been spotting since early 2003. I don't think i will see to many more tri jets, bearing in mind i have seen 6 tristars and 9 DC-10's. Sadly this bread of jet is vanishing

All but the nose which sits at the viewing park. Should have kept the whole aircraft really because it would have been a much better exhibit. The nose doesn't show the character of the tail. Sadly all aircraft are replaced with newer types which usually have less character!

I agree with SJR, if you got a chance to get to Amsterdam to see MD-11's, it's your best shot. With the new seats and modifying there's going to be one or two md-11's less, but Amsterdam is still a guarantee for MD-11's since KLM is one of the few airlines that uses the MD-11 for passenger.

Great video of the martinair MD11. I would say this is pretty close but you can get much closer on the AMS terraces than you can their. This is the closest to the actual actions though. I think i used that runway when i took off the second time and when i landed the first time. If this is the one that is about 2 miles from the terminal.
