Hi

Delta have started to use the B757-200/W into MAN on the DL154/155 JFK-MAN-JFK route. At the moment we have only had 1 aircraft N713TW  city of manchester  and the route has been changed for quite a while. I know they go to SNN and only operate to MAN on certain days but is there any other B757-200/W aircraft that can fly the atlantic or is there just this 1?

Paul

What I think is because DL is doing re-painting and maintences at the same time, so it would take some time before and other B757 feature with winglets, and ETOPS.
But JFK to MAN and back doesn't take a day. Each flight only took about 7 hour plus the rest only about 1 hour. It is a very short flight that a normal B757 without winglets can do that. American airline had try that before, nothing different other than the fuel cost more.

If U're talking about DL-specific, I don't know. But if 752 of any airline, take a look of CO's schedule(Available on CO's website) fm NewYork(EWR) and count how many European cities they fly to daily on 752s. It'll make U think the 752 not only  can fly the Atlantic  but was designed/born to only fly across that ocean.

The difference between an ETOPS B757-200 and a non-ETOPS B757-200 is very minimal. All B757-200's were built with the same fuel tank capacity so range is more of a function of weight. American Trans Air (ATA) used to run scheduled service on a B757-200 from KPHX to PHOG on a daily basis which is an ETOPS 180 min run. I can not tell you for sure how many of DAL's are ETOPS capable, but I know that they have a few ex-ATA birds that were ETOPS capable at ATA (N751AT comes to mind) and could be ETOPS capable at DAL if they choose to equip it and maintain it as such.

Hi.
i live in Malaga,Spain and DL752's start into here in June 08 to JFK. so surely the range far exceeds MAN or northern europe if these a/c can operate direct to southern europe.

DL has aquired 17 (Ex TW) 752 ETOPS aircraft. They have installed winglets, new entertainment systems and interiors. They are for transcon and TransATL service expansion. The NW buyout will give them a 757 fleet total of 209 aircraft. More winglets and more ETOPS to come.
