Most of you regulars on the forum know my thoughts on LCCs especially Ryanair.
I had to go to Belfast last week and decided to use Easyjet and I have to say that I was impressed.
It did cost me more than ever before but there is now no competition on the route to GLA/BFS which is what I have always said would happen when a LCC comes on with initial low fares the regular airlines pull out and the LCC has it all it's own way and starts to put the fares up even higher than before.
In saying that it was a dream in comparison to Ryanair from check in to disembarkation so I will be trying Easy again to see just what they are really like.
Any thoughts on Easyjet chaps.

You're right!
About 2 years ago, i use to hate to fly with them and ryanair was in great bloom, but now i think that they are great value for money, and service has improved massively, fares are good price to, i managed to find flights from Bristol to Lisbon for only £98 for 2 and with 2 pieces of luggage included...
Easyjet Up, Ryanair Down.

I personally liked my day return from Amsterdam with them. Was much better than with Jet 2 but thats just my opinion. I will try an A319 when if they start to Madrid from Manchester or Amsterdam for that matter

Yes EasyJet up but Luton Airport down
I flew to Madrid and back with Easyjet from Luton. Th fare was £80 for two people return, booked last October. Both flights on time with excellent service. We checked in on line both ways with hand luggage only. On the way out first thing in the morning there was ahuge queue to go through security and it took half an hour. On the way back the same queue at passport control, half an hour to look at a passport. Luton have been boasting about record passenger level, may be they need more staff to cope with them.

EasyJet(#2 LCC) seems to enjoy a slightly more 'premium'(If there's such a thing in the LCC world) image over Ryanair(#1 LCC) in Europe in the same way JetBlue(#2 LCC) has a slightly more up-mkt feel(i.e. PTV in every seat) over Southwest(#1 LCC) in the U.S.
Interesting observation: Notice that the '#2s' fly A32x family while the '#1s' fly 737NGs......coincidence or by design?

Well if Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet Blue and Southwest were to want a share in each others markets they are probably best off sharing with the airlines that best fit them. Jet Blue obviously with Easyjet and Rottenair (Sorry Ryanair) with Southwest.

SJR:
Fm a mkt demand for 1-stop shop(i.e. U.S.-Europe thur flights) perspective, I see such link-up(Probably with Southwest as U hv said?) happening 1st to Ryanair due to their annouced transatlantic plan. Heard nothing similar fm any of the other 3 players.
Unlike Ryanair, however, Southwest consistently enjoy a good mkt rep in the U.S. though.
