KLM has started the fleet renewal on the MD-11, with PTV's in economy, which is great! Finally get rid of the horrible cabin! Did the MD-11's get the same WBC class seats on the A330 and B777?
So will the B747's receive PTV's in economy, and new WBC class seats? I was getting annoyed when I flew AMS - NRT back in 2007, the screens were a tad fuzzy and they were too hard for me to see!

The B747-400 series might have PTV install, but not all of them, because I find out that KLM will get rid of B747 in 2013, and if it is true, they will not put PTV in it, because it is only 5 years until phased out. Some airlines doesn't really mind, they might install them because  better looking

KL1086:
Main reason behind the cabin renovation of KL's M11 fleet is to match the cabin std of their newer 332 and 772ER fleets. So yes, the M11 will get those latest WBC and Y-class seats with PTV.

KL do intend to renew the cabin for their 744s to bring them upto the same std as their 332/772ER right after the M11. However, no fixed date has been set yet and it depends on the progress of the M11 cabin renewal. By 2013, their oldest 744 will be 25 yrs old and KL will start taking delivery of its designated replacement 77W(In latest cabin std of course) nex mth so flylinefrontier may be right.

Hope i catch the rest of the 747-400's in the KLM fleet before they are all gone. Does anyone know if some of them will be converted to freighters for KLM or will they go to other airlines to perform that role. I can certainly see Kalitta being interested since they must be thinking about retiring there 747-100/200 aircraft in the not to distant future.
