Flight O8 801 SFO->HKG scheduled to arrive 19:10
Flight O8 601 MEL/SYD->HKG scheduled to arrive 23:05
These will be daily roundtrips and are already listed on the official website of HKG: http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/flightinfo/plannerarr.html
Strangely, only 2 mths left but still no annoucements nor promotion yet fm O8.
3 things are certain though:
1) Sector times of all 4 routes to/fm HKG range fm 9-13 hrs minimum. With only 4 units of 744s to play with by 1Jan08, O8 won't hv any margin left for maintaining its network daily schedule if struck by any type of delay.
2) Again, fares(Especially J/C-class) for these 2 new routes will be insanely affordable and consistent with their strategy for the existing LGW and YVR flights.
3) Unlike LGW and YVR, O8 is directly striking into the hearts of industry giants UA(SFO base) and QF(SYD base) in addition to fighting CX. It's gonna be a bloodbath.

Most likely HKG-OAK not SFO.
Oasis took on CX, BA and Virgin already and crafted its own market place. I think it is ripe to have low fare airlines to North America and Australia.
Airfare for HKG-YVR was relatively high under AC and CX.

Originally OAK-HKG, O8 has recently changed their plan to fly SFO instead. That's why HKG official airport flight schedule is now showing O8 to fly HKG-SFO.
I read fm somewhere that part of the reason is SFO has been actively catering to LCCs. This is probably true given that Virgin A hv substantial ops in SFO rather than OAK and both JetBlue & Southwest hv returned to serve SFO in addition to OAK.

I just realized one thing re the new routes of O8 fm Jan08: With only 4 aircrafts in the fleet by Dec07 and the 5th 744(Last 1 bought fm ANA) won't arrive till after Mar08, it's IMPOSSIBLE for O8 to run daily schedule on all 4 routes beginning early Jan08! Take a look of the avg flight duration(Excluding all turnaround time on the ground) of each route:
HKG<->LGW: 12.5hrs
HKG<->YVR: 12.5hrs
HKG<->SFO: 14hrs
HKG<->SYD<->MEL: 9+1hrs
There're only 3 possible explanations:
1. SFO+SYD/MEL schedules will be postponed till after Mar08:
Highly believable as O8 has not even started any mkting of these routes less than 2 mths fm 1st flight. However, these schedules are actually stated on HKG airport official website.
2. Wet-lease more aircrafts temporarily:
If true, this will be a major surprise. Aircraft leasing has never been mentioned by O8.
3. ANA might recently agreed to deliver the last 744 earlier than Mar08:
This in turn depends on whether ANA can take earlier delivery of their ordered 77W so they can retire their 744 earlier.
