After a accident, another, another... SAS decided to not use the Dash 8 anymore. They will have ATR72 to replace by 2009 before things got serious.
SAS was one of the airline who had lots of Dash 8. They are half new, kind of new and now they have to replace them because that aircraft is making bad records for SAS. So where are those Dash 8 going to go? Stored them? Free to comment!

I see some of them possibly going to Flybe. If not i wouldn't like to guess although maybe bombardier buy will buy them back and sell them onward. I hoped they would go for the E170 to replace them since then we may see them here at Manchester and if they are becoming part of Finnair this would also give more fleet commanality.

Or Air Canada Jazz can buy the Dash 8, because has a lot on their fleet without accidents.

SAS only own 4 of the Dash 8 Q 400. The rest of them are leased through Bombadier. So they will probably go back to their owner. By the way, SAS has asked 500 Million DKR from Bombardier as compensation for their losses due to the Dash 8 Q-400 accidents.

Personally, I wouldn't let SAS maintain my bicycle! See Danish AIB preliminary report here...
