The Vulcan XH558/G-VLCN has made its first flight since it went into storage 14 years ago. It will be doing airshows. It recently has been undergoing maintenance and now its flying. It flew from Bruntingthorpe.

That is great news. A British classic and arguably the best long range bomber that existed. OH!! the noise of thoise RR engines I just get a cheap frill from those. Please come to REC again its been a long time (82) although ive been here since 99

I was recently down at Southend spotting. Wasnt much there when i went though.

Wonderful to hear that such a special aircraft is back where it belongs. Hopefully one day other classics will get air again although i doubt Concorde ever will, sad as it is.

It would be rather nice to see a Concorde up and running again. Personaly I can't afford the millions to run it but i'd pay to sse it flying again

if the concorde was to fly it will probably be in years To come like the vulcan XH558 was grounded for about 14/15 years. correct me if i'm wrong.

Concorde will not fly again. I would put money on that but i suppose i would be happy to lose it.

In my opinion it will fly again just needs a fat check book like that of SRB or BG or that Aprendiz man. Can't remember his name. You never knoe even Travolta might be interested

I doubt that even Travolta has that much money and who would fly it since it is a unique aircraft and from what i can tell special training would be required for any pilot to fly it. I mean i really hope i am wrong but i just dont see the aircraft flying again. BOAC is still capable of flight but needs some serious cash to get it there but i doubt Manchester airport would allow there prize exhibit to go anywhere with the money they make out of it.

speedbird9468:
B1 and B2 hv to be among the best long-range bombers that existed. Vulcan is great looking but the lines of the B1 is just purely sexy and really doesn't look like a 30 yrs old design.
