i know sometime's flim's are not right and i souldn't take them for granted but it looked like it could be done so i'm asking.

movies like turbulance, are stretched too far, as you saw in it..it only filmed the cabin part for the main bit..and to be honest, the outside didnt look that real...a bit more like a sim.

Turbulence 2 is crap to say the least, however i like passenger 57 ..but thats me just being a boring guy and sticking to the old movies :)

To cut it short, every plane has its limits, im guessing every plane can barrel roll, however not easily, but there are things done to prevent such things. If anyone knows different please correct me if im wrong.

John

Hi, I have heard stories that a 747 was rolled early in the flight testing, and the same with Concorde.

While I tend to believe the Concorde story, I am skeptical about the 747 (although I have read that Boeing believes it is technically possible, it's not recommended)

If you go to

http://www.airliners.net/discussions/tech_ops/read.main/23129

There is a 'heated discussion' on this topic

Also, if you have a look at

http://www.aviationexplorer.com/707_roll_video.htm

There is some footage of the Dash-80 going through a roll
It's a bit grainy, and takes a while to load, but good to look at

I belive that it was a 707 that they did the barrel role with. I've done a role in a 757 sim. Lost 5000' altitude though.
