Has anyone ever flown or flown in any of the Russian built aircraft such as the TU-104, 124, 134, 154 or the IL-18 or 62. If you have can you tell us what you thought of them and if you would fly in any of them again as the general thought would seem to be that they are just not as well put together as Western types.

Well although i cant judge them from a flight point of view they always seem to be crashing. Whether thats maintainance or something else.

I once flew on a TU 134 or 154. I can't remember exactly. All I remember was that it was really noisy. But not bad though. I think new russian crafts are good exthe TU204 but the older stuff I would be a little nervous

Yes. Sorry about that It was Tarom and the flight was from Bucharest to LHR but for some reason we went to LGW. I was at the time on an aid working mission for my ex company delivering things which went by road to Romanian orphanages. And, believe it or not there were teccies working on the no2 engine while no1 was spooling up to taxi. That was rather concerning.
