Thomsonfly have expanded there low-fares from Coventry, Doncaster and Bournemouth to:

Newcastle
Manchester
Nottingham
Birmingham
Cardiff
Gatwick
Luton
Cardiff

to the usual loco destinations.. (palma, malaga etc..)

So are these new low-cost routes just going to be glorified charter flights operated by TUI? or they going to withdraw some 752's from the charter operations and base them on low cost runs? Or are Thomsonfly going to purchase more 737-300/500 and 800's?

I gota say they have a lot of balls with competing in some of these airports, there now competing with Easyjet, BMI Baby and Jet2.

But I spose more and mroe poeple are now flying Low-Cost and booking there own accomodation and TUI are loosing out on package holidays so am I right to say Thomson and TUI are trying to compete in both markets? the package holiday market and the 'DIY holidays'

i cant see them using the 752s for loco when they have more demand utilising them for charters due to high pax loads. Im not totally up on thomsonfly now its changed hands. Hmmm strange about the expansion from EGCC when they have airports close to work on...errr my only guess is they may slam some pax on charter flights, whether this would work or not is a different thing, i for one wouldnt want to pay more than people booking LOCO for the same service on the same aircraft.

I daresay we will see expansion with more aircraft, one thing is..they have a lot of competing to do with jet2, but i suppose they already have 1 foot in the door at MAN.

What also struck me is that all the airports TOMFLY will be flying from, BY aircraft are based at doing the chav express runs, well, all thats on the list for expansion.

Lets wait and see what happens, if it takes off (no pun intended) then there may well be some more 733's on the way, if jet2 doesnt snatch them all up first like they have been doing :D

All the best mate
John
