Hi, I'm new to the forum and need some help. I am in the process of writing a book telling the story of Virgin Atlantic (and its associates) and need as many photos as I can get. My royalties from the book will be going to charity (probably Virgin Unite as that is the current Virgin Airlines charity).
I have identified loads of pics on this site and have emailed the photographers for permission to use them free of charge as I make nothing out of the book. However they may or may not give their permission so I need to have a back up supply.
To prove my credentials I am the author of a successful book on Virgin Trains (Virgin Trains A Decade of Progress) published by Ian Allan who will also be publishing the airline book. All my royalties from that book have been donated to the Railway Children Charity.
Enough about trains though can anyone help with donating their photos. Of particular interest are pics from overseas as I just cannot afford to get to the USA, Australia etc, though those from the UK will also be required. What are the best locations for photographing VA at Heathrow, Gatwick & Manchester?

Hi there
At Heathrow a good photographing location for approach shots is Myrtle Avenue, there is a green at the bottom of the road where many photographer and spotters stand.

Yes i have quite a few photos of Virgin Atlantic aircraft at Manchester and at Heathrow but not any from the past. Also my photos are not the absolute best quality and therefore i shall not put them forward. What sort of photos are you looking for. Any particular type, colour scheme, e.t.c.

Thanks. All types of pic of Virgin Atlantic in action (preferably in colour) are required. These can be aircraft, ground services, lounges etc. All help gratefully accepted.

Well as i said i am not to happy with the quality of my pics. I also cannot remember just which i have. I will try to have a look in a few days time when i can get to them. If there are any i see as good enough i shall let you know.

I've never been to London, so I can just advise you to try to look at the photos here on airfleets.net, if you can..

I may be able to get to my pics of VS tommorow to see if any are worth putting forward for publication. They are from LHR and MAN as i have already stated. Sorry about the wait
