Could anyone tell me what is the MD-80 capability to manuever and/or land if one engine fails? What if it happens at 33,000 ft.?
Any information would be very useful, thanks!

Yes. Absolutely.

Air transport catagory aircraft with two engines must be capable of flying on the remaining engine.

Read about the certification standards the MD-80 has to meet here-

Title 14: Aeronautics and Space
PART 25—AIRWORTHINESS STANDARDS: TRANSPORT CATEGORY AIRPLANES
Subpart B—Flight

The MD-80 can handle one engine at 33000, however due to the aircraft weight the pilots may have to consider a driftdown to a lower altitude for better performance.
