Direct flights to/from REC

Being English and coming form Sunny Bournemouth and now living with my Brazilian wife and kids In Recife I remember the direct route to LGW from REC operated by TransBrasil when they were active. But at the moment there is only 1 schedule flight operated by TAP via LIS. I just wish there war/were more direct flights from REC to the UK. Why is this. The northeast of Brazil seems to lack direct services to the Uk. I don't think it can be a population thing as Rec has a population of about 1.7 million and growing. What wit the new oil refinery and shipyard about 50k's or so to the south maybe that will atract s/thing. I know in the past b/cal operated the L1011 here and Air France also had direct CDG flights. Weve got a brand spanking new airport with the longest runway in the Northeast that is always deserted is supposed to handle up to 5million per year and is currently operating at less than half its capacity. While in comparisson m local Airport BOH has a pewny terminal and his handling according to figures almost 900,00 per year and rising fast. Does anybody know why this is? thanks for your reply's

From Lisbon Yes they do But then you have you wait for your connection. Also I have waited in Lis for 7 hours. Hi Werker. No I don't remember that. Just wish it was still active.

Hi speedbird, Today times, TAP operates daily flights from REC, FOR, GRU, GIG and SSA. From NAT is four times weekly. You live in REC, with your brazilian wife? I'm brazilian, but i live here in Philadelphia. AIRFLEETS.NET STAFF PHOTO SCREENER
