Hello all!

In July, after travelling from Manchester i'm flying on KLM from Amsterdam to Lima via Bonaire (i presume) on what i think is an MD-11 (according to Expedia).

Has anybody flown this route before and can anybody let me know what to expect of the flight, the airline and the plane?

Thanks,

Joe

Hi
I am cabin crew with KLM and operate the MD-11. Its a great
aircraft and in good shape although the inflight entertainment
system is a bit dated for todays standards, just ceiling monitors
with fixed movies and ample music channels. The flight does
indeed route via the Dutch Caribbean Island of Bonaire and you
are allowed to get off during the transit stop if the airport isn't
dealing with other departing flights (unlikely). The configuration is 2-4-3 so depending with how many people you are travellijng with its a great lay-out.You'll get a full free bar service followed by dinner, half way during the flight a snack service (icecream/crisps) and before arrival in BON another light
meal. The next sector yet another meal so plenty to eat. I love
the MD-11 and the crews are great (but I'm bias of course).
Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

Wow i couldn't have dreamed of a better response! A reply from cabin crew! Thanks! It is my dad and myself and i'm hoping for a window seat because i get very sick when i can't see what is going on outside.

I have a few more questions that i am interested in if you don't mind asking.

Is this your regular route? I fly on Sunday July 16th.

How long does the flight tend to take? Is the plane usually full on this route?

How long are we usually allowed off the plan during the transit stop?

Thanks!

Hi again.
I won't be on that flight I'm afraid. That route is very popular and tends to be full most of the time. If you have e-tickets you can actually choose a seat on KLM.com from the lay-out given.
Depending on the winds it normally takes between 9 and 9 hrs 45mins to Bonaire. You are allowed off but only for a short period of 30mins or so. Wishing you a great flight!

Thankyou again!

Our tickets haven't arrived yet so i'm not sure what special things i can do with them!

Can you think of any way that i'd be able to get an upgrade from economy to the fancy seats? :) If not, where do you suggest i sit so that i may have a nice seat and a view of something other than the wing?
