i've read on Airliner World, an English aviation magazine, that Fedex will replace its 727s with 757s, 20% save on operational costs. But the report on Airliner World wasn't specific, anyone know something more about this?

Another thing...let's list which one of Guys here in the forum is photographer too. I am.

Regards to all, i'm back to forum. I was travelling in US and Canada, and spotting at Philadelphia, Toronto and Vancouver.

i heard this on A net a while back. I believe they were after 70 odd 752F's over between now and 2011 but im not sure where they will find them because the 757 is still a very widely used aircraft

Fedex will replace its 727s from 2009 and 2011, isn't it?

Apart from A380 orders cancelations they would be ordering 777F, if not correct...

Anyone konws if UPS cancelled its A380F orders?

FDX could pick up a few of the NWA birds that are sitting at Mojave.

Those 757's from NWA are there for maintenance, or at least some work that needs to be done on them. After that they return into service and others will go to Mojave.

NWA has 46 B752's. I don't know how many are sitting in the desert. How many are getting the winglets for the European flights? Why do they do maintenace in the desert instead of at MSP?

3 are in the desert atm. It may also have something to do with getting the lease cheaper, since NWA did that before as well. I dunno about howmany get winglets, but the 4 that are currently in the desert are only 5 years old, so they might get the winglets since they're fairly new.
I'm not sure why they would do it at Mojave, but a reason might be lack of space or engeers at MSP for those kinda things.

I'm wondering...Fedex will use new aircraft such as NWA, some has only five years old!
I think Fedex may use some from British Airways, isn't it?
The oldset 757s are from British Airways and some delivered to ceased Eastern of US, with code (25).
Guys...i don't think NWA will phased out the 757s and even some opf them in the desert. I think the aircraft in the desert is there because are only for storage, awaiting back on service with winglets. The NWA 757s are so new, and expensive to convert to freighters.
Fedex may use older 757s.
I apreciate more news about it!

Regards to all

Fedex may well take some of the old BA machines but with the demand they have they will need more than the remaining BA 757's bearing in mind that way over half have now gone into carrying cargo for DHL. Monarch Airlines and First Choice should be replacing some aircraft in there fleet and both of these have 752's. I suspect there will soon be more on the market because many will be replaced by either Airbuses or newer larger Boeing products such as the 787. If the 739ER works out this too may be used to replace the 752

SJR,

Now i'm think it's ok.
I'll bet more on 739ER because of the length not because of range of 787. I agree with your post, SJR, very much.

Thanks a lot for all
